Review: 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Movie

Okay, where do we begin with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which I've been meaning to review for a little while now? Even though I was excited to see it since I'm a huge Spider-Man fan, there was a part of me that was worried about how the film would turn out. And that wariness began way back when we found out there would be multiple villains in #2. And that got everyone, including myself, having flashbacks to Spider-Man 3--that was quite the villain-palooza!

Okay, it's been a long, long time since I've posted any reviews on this blog. Better late than never to start catching up, right? The last review I did was for Iron Man 3, the first Phase 2 film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now it's time to visit Thor: The Dark World.

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards were on Monday night, and I just have to start off by saying my success rate went way up this year! The past two years, I've been stuck at 33%, but this year, my predictions were correct 53.8% of the time! Finally!

So without further ado, here are the list of winners compared to my predictions:

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are tonight (at 8pm ET/5pm PT on NBC)--on a Monday and in August, which feels very strange--hosted by Late Night's Seth Meyers. Here are my predictions for this year's Emmys. (Note: The winners in a few of the categories were already announced at the Creative Arts Emmys, but I still wanted to include my predictions from before seeing the winners here so everything's together.)

Golden Globes 2014: My Predictions vs. Winners

NBC recently aired the 71st Golden Globe Awards. I improved slightly over 2013 (64%) by getting 68% correct in my predictions. So it's still down from the year before that, but it's good that I'm at least heading back in the right direction.

Below are the list of winners compared to my predictions:

2013 Year in Review: My Recommendations of the Year

Earlier today, I posted the first part of my 2013 Year in Review. Now it's time for Part 2: taking a look at all of my recommendations from throughout the year, including some additional recommendations that I didn't review but still want to mention. I've ranked them as best I could, though when I'm including things from all different areas (movies, TV shows, books, etc), it's not always easy to determine which is better, if a particular movie is better than a certain book, for example. But here it is:

2013 Year in Review: Looking Back on 'What I'm Looking Forward to This Year'

To quote Albus Dumbledore, "Another year gone!" With 2013 now behind us, it's time for me to start posting my Year in Review content, starting with my reflections on a entry from the start of last year titled 'What I'm Looking Forward to This Year." I think the headline explains it all, so what I'm going to do is just go through and reflect on each of the items I mentioned then. Some I might not have gotten to, so I'll make note of that as well.
