Jeff Dodge's 2019 Oscar Predictions

The 91st Academy Awards are this weekend--on Sunday, February 24 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on ABC, hosted by, well, no one! Here are my predictions in all 24 categories:

Best Picture:
Roma

It should be A Star is Born. We all would love it to be Black Panther. Unfortunately, it's likely to go to one of the boring choices.

Best Actor:
Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody

Best Actress:
Glenn Close, The Wife

It should be Lady Gaga. This was supposed to be her moment. So I'll say this ahead of time: #GagaWasRobbed.

Best Supporting Actor:
Mahershala Ali, Green Book

Best Supporting Actress:
Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk

Best Director:
Alfonso Cuaron, Roma

Best Original Screenplay:
The Favourite

Best Adapted Screenplay:
BlacKkKlansman

Best Animated Feature:
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Best Animated Short:
Bao

Best Documentary Feature:
RBG

Best Documentary Short:
Period. End of Sentence.

Best Live-Action Short:
Marguerite

Best Foreign Language Film:
Roma

Best Original Score:
Black Panther

Best Original Song:
"Shallow," A Star is Born

This may be the only sure bet of the night. But on the super off chance Gaga doesn't win here, there will be hell to pay.

Best Cinematography:
Roma

Best Production Design:
The Favourite

Best Costume Design:
Black Panther

Best Makeup and Hairstyling:
Vice

Best Film Editing:
Vice

Best Sound Editing:
Bohemian Rhapsody

Best Sound Mixing:
Bohemian Rhapsody

Best Visual Effects:
First Man
