Jeff Dodge's 2015 Emmy Predictions

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards are this Sunday night at 8pm ET/5pm PT on FOX, hosted by Andy Samberg. While I'm not really excited to see him as host, it's the Emmys so of course I can't wait to watch! Below are my predictions. (Note: The winners in a few of the categories were already announced at the Creative Arts Emmys, but I still wanted to mention what my predictions were so that everything is together in one article.)

Best Drama Series:
Mad Men

The race is between Game of Thrones and Mad Men. I personally would love to see GoT win, but Men had its farewell this year, so that could put it over the top.

Best Comedy Series:
Modern Family

Transparent and Veep are also strong contenders. Between those three, I've only seen Transparent, so I'm obviously biased towards that one. But because people have rightly pointed out that it's not a straight-up comedy, that could be hurt its chances.

Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series:
Jon Hamm, Mad Men

Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series:
Viola Davis, How to Get Away with Murder

Viola Davis winning is the only acceptable outcome for this category--yes, even with Taraji P. Henson also in the running.

Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series:
Jeffrey Tambor, Transparent

He has to win. One of the easiest categories to predict.

Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series:
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series:
Jonathan Banks, Better Call Saul

Peter Dinklage might win, or even Ben Mendelsohn. I watch both Better Call Saul and Game of Thrones, so either would be fine with me.

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series:
Lena Headey, Game of Thrones

I would love to see GoT win in the acting categories.

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series:
Titus Burgess, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series:
Allison Janney, Mom

Who doesn't love Allison Janney on Mom?

Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series:
Beau Bridges, Masters of Sex

Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series:
Allison Janney, Masters of Sex

Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series:
Bradley Whitford, Transparent

Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series:
Tina Fey, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Best Limited Series:
Olive Kitteridge

Best TV Movie:
Bessie

Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie:
Richard Jenkins, Olive Kitteridge

Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie:
Queen Latifah, Bessie

Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie:
Bill Murray, Olive Kitteridge

Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie:
Mo'Nique, Bessie

Best Reality Show Competition:
The Amazing Race

Seems like the obvious choice. As long as The Voice doesn't win, I'm happy.

Best Structured Reality Program:
Shark Tank

Best Unstructured Reality Program:
Deadliest Catch

Best Reality Show Host:
Cat Deeley, So You Think You Can Dance

Best Variety, Music or Comedy Series:
The Daily Show

Best Variety Sketch Series:
Inside Amy Schumer

It's Amy Schumer or nothing, in my book.

Best Variety Special:
Mel Brooks Live at the Geffen
